This garden was commissioned to help the client to easily access the garden and make the most of the outdoor space. Their garden has many parts and they needed a space near the house to draw them out into the garden and from there they can wander and explore the different areas of the garden.

The site has a view of a field of trees and woodland that the client wanted to make the most of. It also had different height levels and some drainage issues to be taken into consideration. There was a natural curved bank which helped inform the design where we created a curved stone wall which hugs the garden and creates a beatiful backdrop to an intimate space. Within it we divided the space to contain a catwalk style path to make the transition from the house to the garden seamless. We also have two seating areas, one for family dining and one for more intimate times when you’d have a coffee or a cocktail. These areas are sunken to feel more private.
